Viva Vegas!!!!

R had been busy most of the summer with the Sockers but he did manage to meet up with us in Arizona for the last week of our trip.  We were so excited to see him and glad we could spend some vacation time with him.  Then he surprised me and said, "Let's go to Vegas!!"  We love Vegas, not so much because we gamble but it's a place we used to go once a year, without the kids, for a nice getaway alone.  We really need that and since we've moved to Texas we rarely get any date nights, let alone short weekend getaways.  I was really excited and I let him plan the whole trip.  We usually fly there from Arizona but this time we decided to drive and check out the Hoover Dam, which I'd never seen.  We crossed the new bridge and then went and walked around above the dam.  Pretty amazing to see.

Looking down over the Dam.  Scary!!!!!

Had to take a picture next to my Scorpio sign.

You can walk across the new bridge and look at the Hoover Dam.  So this is the view from there.  R wasn't brave enough to make the trek.

We got settled in our room at the Luxor and walked around the strip a bit and then got ready to go see our first show.  We went to Cirque du Soleil's Viva Elvis.  We've seen almost all of the Cirque shows there, but this was one we hadn't seen and I'm glad we went because it turns out that the shows going to close at the end of August.  It was an amazing show, full of all of Elvis' great tunes and awesome aerobatics that Cirque du Soleil is famous for.  I'm so glad we were able to see it.

Took a picture by this fun fountain that looked like it had bubbles coming off of it.
