Snow Fun!!

This Tx. weather has sure been different. I'm used to changing weather from WI but this weather REALLY changes.... and changes fast!! For example, 2 weeks ago it went from 73 degrees during the day to snowing that evening!! Luckily, we're starting to finally build up our wardrobe so we're prepared. :}

So when it finally started to snow I just knew I had to wake the kids up and show them. They've been waiting for snow for soo long and I knew this would be such a fun surprise. So at about 11:30 PM, I went in and woke up all the kids. When they looked out the window and saw this.... they couldn't contain themselves. They were so excited.

I know this picture is blurry but it was so cute. I let the kids go outside in their jammies to feel the snow and to see how cold it was but I didn't want to spend hours playing in the snow because I knew they needed to get back to bed. A had other plans. He went and changed his clothes and when I told him we'd play in the morning instead of in the middle of the night.... this was the face he gave me. He was so sad. He'd waited so long to play in the snow here and when I postponed that, he wasn't too happy.

I know, I know... there really wasn't that much snow but our kids definitely made the most of it. They did snow angels, snow fights and J even shoveled. They couldn't wait to get home from school to go play in the snow. (regardless of the freezing temperatures)

J was such a big boy. He volunteered totally on his own to go shovel the sidewalks, even before school started. What a nice boy.
