Amarillo Meet

Here are some pictures and videos from last weekends meet in Amarillo. F and I had another girls weekend, just the two of us and it was really nice. Amarillo is about 4 hours away so it was quite the drive but we made it there and back safe and sound and had lots of fun in between. We stayed at the hotel with other people from her team so they had fun swimming while the parents got to chat.

The meet was on Saturday and her first event was the floor. She has 2 passes and she's been working on her first pass a lot this last week so it looked really good. Her second pass is her round off flip flop pass and she's nailed it so many times in competition and in practice but for some reason, she just stopped after her round off. She doesn't know why and it was just sort of a weird thing. I think as an athlete, if she just feels she's not setup right for her flip flop, she just would rather stop than hurt herself. Needless to say she'd done that so many times so she was pretty devastated that she didn't do it. However, she still got 2nd place in a flight of 5 people. We couldn't believe it!! I talked to her coach afterward and he said that because her first pass was so good and she still got some points for her second pass, that she was still able to soar above her competition. That made her feel much better. :}

Next up, the trampoline and she got 3rd!
Last event was the double mini and she's struggled on that a lot and after the last meet her coach changed one of her passes to a pass that was more difficult but got more points. She's been working on her stick landing really hard. Guess what she got???

On our way home we saw this Zebra so we had to stop and take a picture. We celebrated at REd Robin and did a little shopping in Amarillo and then headed back home.
