Shortly after we got back from Kansas City, the Bates invited us to join them on a trip to Utah. R had to work, A was still in South Dakota and J had soccer so it was just F and I. We were so excited because we hadn't seen them since our move back to AZ and we'd both never been to Utah so we were looking forward to visiting there.
The girls playing dress up. They were so excited to see each other again.
We left early on Friday for the long drive. Luckily the drive went fairly quickly because of the gorgeous scenery and great company.
The next day we set out to explore the town a bit and do a little hiking.
There was a huge crane that was set at 10 and 30 feet and you could jump off of it. Of course the dare devils F and D and to give it a try.
You can tell we're best friends. We got ready to go on our hike and realized we brought matching outfits, hats and glasses.
M and D were really there for business. D was the union president for Prescott so he's been attending all of the funerals for the 19 hotshots that died in the wild land fire. This was the last of the funerals after a very busy and tiring 2 weeks.
I watched the kids at the park while they attended the memorial service.
I'm known as D's second wife in Prescott and at the fire station because I'm usually at and involved with the fire events. We took a picture of D and his "wives". We kept joking we fit right in because we were in Utah. lol
Playing games at the park.
Of course we couldn't let the girls have all the fun. :}
Hanging pool side
D and I always make Grasshopper drinks and have them together. They were so yummy!!!
I was the lucky one that got to snuggle with this cutie at bedtime.
D and his awesome back flip off the crane
F and her 30 ft jump
Here's a video of M and I trying to knock each other off our pedestals. We were laughing so hard we could barely move our jousts but it was so much fun. I ended up winning 2 out of 3 tries but I have to give her tons of credit because she was in a dress!!
