Girls Weekend!!

F had another gymnastics meet on Saturday in Lubbock and since she had to be there pretty early in the morning we decided to make it a girls "night" and invite some friends to join us. R had to stay home with the boys because J had a basketball game, plus his parents were in town so they all stayed home together. We left on Friday after school and headed up. After grabbing a bite to eat, we headed to our hotel.

Here the girls are being silly getting ready to head up to the room. (We invited the Cottle girls to join us and boy did we have fun!!)

We got up on Saturday and got all ready to go. I am so thankful they came because we had to PLASTER F's hair back. We were told "no stray" hairs allowed and we had to gel it pretty tight with all the bouncing she was going to do. Her first event was the trampoline. She improved from the last meet, which was great, but still has some things to work on. This meet was much tougher than her last one and the judges were much harder, and there were many more girls. F ended up getting 6th place out of 10.
Next was floor. She hadn't really worked that much on her flip flop since the last meet so I was a little nervous on how she would do, plus on her second warm up round, she fell doing her routine, but she pulled it off and did really well. She ended up getting the highest score in her flight for her second pass (her flip flop pass) Here is her score.
She got 3rd place out of 11th and was so proud. She did awesome!!

Her last event was the double mini. She's been really struggling to stick the landings on her passes so we weren't quit sure how she would do. Half of the time she ends up on her belly and the other half she steps or jumps. It's just practice and she continues to work on it. She did her 2 warm up rounds, one she stepped and one she flopped but AGAIN she pulled out when it counted. She completely STUCK her first pass and jumped and stepped on her second one, but hey, it's better than doing a belly flop. She got the highest score in her flight for her first pass and ended up tying for 4th place out of 10 in this event. We were so proud of her and she's still loving it. As soon as we're done, she starts asking when her next meet is. And the biggest thing is she's improving every meet, which is great.

All done and heading home. We ended up making a day out of it and had lunch and stopped by the mall to shop. I love girls weekends and we had such a great time!!
Here is her trampoline pass. It wasn't one of her best but she still did well.
