Well, we're finally back from our 6 week vacation. We traveled over 5,000 miles, went to 5 different states, saw so many friends and relatives and were able to pack in so much. We had an absolute blast!!! Of course, I have a bazillion pictures and I'll probably be posting them for several weeks but I need to get going before the business of school starts. Check back often and follow us on our fun summer journey. (For those that think the kids and I just have it really good... The reason we're able to leave for so long during the summer is that R is actually on the coaching staff for a PDL Soccer team which makes him very busy and takes him out of town a lot during the summer. So instead of us just staying here by ourselves, we take the time to travel as well and visit our family. But actually the truth is we are very lucky that he is OK with us leaving for so long, we do have it good and these summer travels make for amazing lifelong memories. We are very fortunate.)
Our first stop took us to Omaha, Nebraska. My Mom drove down to pick us up from the airport there and we were able to stay with a relative for a few days to take in the Omaha Zoo. It is really quite something. Thanks Donna for hosting us. We had a blast with you, Matt, Megan and Addi.
Touching all of the ocean creatures
Big Shark
Grandma and some of her grandkids. They all love spending time together
See this guy? Well there is a sitting area and F was sitting down and he came up behind her and she didn't know it. His little smiling face was above her head and it was flapping its wings at her side. It was so unbelievable and really cute.
Love this picture of them
Lunch time
Butterfly friends
So this is sort of a funny story. J is my cautious one. We decided to go on a sky ride above the zoo to get a different view of all of the animals. AFTER we bought the tickets, he FREAKED!!!! He absolutely refused to go on the ride. I couldn't believe he was so afraid but we eventually convinced him to go. At the start of the ride, this was the death stare he gave me. YIKES!!
Half way through he relaxed a bit and actually enjoyed the ride. Thank goodness because we got to see a lot of really need animals from above.
A and D, partners on the sky ride
M and A on the sky ride
These were probably my most favorite of all of the animals that day. Amazing jellyfish

F's latest thing is to take pictures with different faces. So here's one of them :}
Train ride
He's so handsome!!!
This gorilla was really strange. Check out this weird pose?? I guess it's gorilla yoga. Anyway, there was a man there with a red shirt and for some reason this gorilla DID not like him. He was running around just yelling at this guy and slamming the glass window that we could see out of. At point the gorilla was casually walking around, picked up a pile of dirt and threw it at the man with the red shirt and just completely went crazy. It was pretty wild to watch.
| A still loves motorcycles.
